Role:  Technical Copywriter

Reports To: GLT Operations Manager

Job Overview: The Technical Copywriter is responsible for creating, maintaining, and enhancing technical documentation for our products and services. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) and cross-functional teams to develop user manuals, technical reports and pilot plant user guides.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Efficiency

  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation such as user manuals, technical reports and pilot plant user guides.
  • Collaborating with Metallurgists, Engineers and Technical Leads to gather technical information.
  • Organising content logically to make it accessible to various audiences.
  • Editing and proofreading to ensure content is clear, consistent, and accurate.
  • Ensuring that documentation meets the needs of customer for pilot plant trials and plant trials
  • Managing version control of documents to keep content up-to-date.
  • Utilising various tools to create, manage, and publish technical data.

Stakeholder Relationship Management  

  • Builds and nurtures relationships with wustomers where required.

  • Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with internal teams and relevant stakeholders.

Financial Management

  • Monitors expenses, ensuring expenditure is within approved budgets and Delegation of Authority (DOA).

Safety, Health and Environment Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all Safety, Health, Environment and all other regulatory statutes, and all other safety and quality processes for the area of responsibility/work.

Qualification, Skills and Competencies:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Technical Writer or in a similar role.
  • Technical skills: Strong understanding of technical concepts and ability to translate them into user-friendly documentation
  • Project Management skills: Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, familiarity with version control systems and Agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical Competencies: Effectively handling detailed information and being consistently attentive to details. Possesses, acquires, and maintains the technical expertise required to do the job effectively and to create client/customer solutions. Technical/professional expertise is demonstrated through problem solving, applying professional judgment, and competent performance.

Other requirements:

  • Must have the ability to travel overseas.
