Alexander Wickstrom has worked in a variety of roles in the technology and research fields. Alexander began their career in 2013 as a Research Assistant in the Swain Behavioral Neuroscience Lab, where they studied the neurobiological and neuropsychological dynamics of how experience shapes the structure and function of the brain. In 2015, they moved on to become a Research Assistant in the Neural Circuits & Memory Lab, where they used computational models of spiking recurrent networks to explore dynamic properties of neural networks. In 2018, they became a Graduate Student Researcher in the Neural Control and Engineering Laboratory. In 2020, they began working as a Machine Learning + Software Engineer at Wise IOT Solutions. Most recently, in 2021, they started working as a Software Engineer II at DrChrono.
Alexander Wickstrom completed their Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences - Neuroscience from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee between 2012 and 2015. Alexander also obtained an Associate of Arts (A.A.) from Johnson County Community College between 2007 and 2010. In 2013, they obtained a Certified Nursing Assistant from Johnson County Community College and an Emergency Medical Technician from Milwaukee Area Technical College. Alexander also obtained certifications in Django Takeoff: Developing Modern Applications from Educative, Inc., Hazardous Waste Training from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, Laboratory Animal Handling from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, and Emergency Medical Services from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. In 2016, they completed their Master of Science (MS) in Neuroengineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.
