Michael Roney has extensive work experience in the aerospace and defense industry. Michael started their career in 1987 as an Integrated Avionics System Technician in the United States Air Force, where they inspected, trouble-shot, operated, and maintained F-16 aircraft avionics systems. Michael held this role until 2009 and also served as the Wing Avionics Manager, acting as the lead advisor for avionics software and hardware upgrades.
From 2011 to 2013, Roney worked as an Assistant Superintendent in the United States Air Force, managing facilities used for aircraft maintenance and storage. Michael provided leadership for maintenance and operations procedures on the F-35 System Development and Demonstration program, and also generated sorties and performed tests on F-35 fifth generation fighter aircraft.
Roney then joined Lockheed Martin in 2013 as a Simulator Technician, responsible for maintaining and operating simulators. Michael continued in this role until 2018.
Since 2018, Roney has been working at Delaware Resource Group as a Field Engineer and Electronics Technician III (Simulator Technician).
Michael Roney pursued their education in aeronautical and avionics fields. From 1998 to 2003, they attended the Community College of the Air Force and obtained an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) degree in Avionics Systems Technology. Later, from 2005 to 2010, they studied at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where they completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Professional Aeronautics.
