Jerad Derks

Jerad Derks is an experienced professional in the fields of vegetation management, environmental science, and construction. Currently serving as a Forestry Supervisor at Consumers Energy since April 2017, Jerad oversees vegetation in right-of-ways to ensure compliance with safety and reliability standards for electric distribution. Concurrently, Jerad works as an Engineering Technician at Driesenga & Associates, Inc., performing onsite testing of construction materials and interpreting results for compliance recommendations. Prior roles include Environmental Scientist at Stantec Consulting Services, where responsibilities included habitat restoration alongside MEDQ, and Biological Field Technician at Cardno JFNew, leading ecological restoration efforts. Jerad's early career involved construction coordination and field biology, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Natural Resources Management and Policy from Grand Valley State University.
