Peter Bals

Peter Bals has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Peter is currently the Chief Technology Officer at Droit, a position they have held since November 2021. Prior to that, Peter served as the President of the David Michael Foundation, a non-profit organization starting from January 2020.

Peter has a strong background in technology and finance. Peter founded Gluetech Inc., a fintech company specializing in blockchain-based real-time data provenance solutions. Peter led the company from December 2016 to October 2021, offering enterprise-grade solutions for regulatory reporting and audits.

Before Gluetech, Peter worked at Barclays as the Managing Director and Group Level Chief Data Architect. During their tenure from November 2015 to November 2016, they managed a global team and built data architecture and governance systems for the bank's Chief Data Office.

Prior to Barclays, Peter was employed by Bank of America as the Managing Director of Data Services Technology & Architecture. From October 2014 to November 2015, they designed and implemented an enterprise-wide Data Movement Utility, optimizing data access, storage, and distribution processes across multiple lines of business.

Peter's experience also includes senior positions at TD Ameritrade, Bear Stearns (now J.P. Morgan), Merrill Lynch, and their own company Glue Technology, Inc., where they served as CTO and Founder.

Throughout their career, Peter has demonstrated expertise in architecting and implementing innovative technologies, particularly in the areas of real-time data management, service-based architectures, and data scalability. Peter'scontributions have been recognized with industry innovation awards.

Peter Bals has a Master's Degree in Computer Science from RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau.
