Pablo Urrutia has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Pablo began their career as a Staff Writer for Casa Editorial El Tiempo, a leading national daily newspaper. Pablo then moved on to work at the US Embassy as the Head of Press Relations in Bogota, managing media relations and coordinating information dissemination on subjects of bilateral interest.
After their tenure at the US Embassy, Pablo joined BP, where they held various positions over the course of ten years. Pablo started as the Head of Communications and Press for BP Colombia, strengthening relations with the media and other key stakeholders. Pablo then transitioned to the role of Public Affairs Manager, where they strengthened relations with external audiences and implemented sustainable social investment projects. Later, they became the Media Management Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, managing information outflow to different countries. Finally, they served as the Media and External Relations Manager for BP Shipping, where they worked on reputation issues, crisis management, and coordinated communications strategies.
Following their time at BP, Pablo worked as an Advisor for J.A. Llorente & O. Cuenca, promoting the firm and providing strategic advice. Pablo also started working on independent strategic communications projects. Pablo then started their own communications consultancy, Pablo Urrutia Escobar Communications, where they provided strategic advice on communications and public relations to clients such as Gran Tierra Energy and Colseguros.
Most recently, Pablo has been working as the Vice President of Communications and Public Relations for Drummond Ltd., a mining company. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing communications and public relations initiatives.
