Michael Laurberg Jensen

Michael Laurberg Jensen has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Michael Laurberg began their career in 2006 as a Student Assistant at Nykredit Bank A/S, where they worked in customer service. From 2009 to 2012, they worked as a Student Assistant in Group Risk Management at Nykredit Realkredit A/S, specializing in financial analysis for large corporations.

In 2012, Michael joined Danish Ship Finance A/S as a Portfolio Manager in the Finance Department. Here, they managed daily liquidity, invested equity capital in bonds, and handled various funding and lending operations. Michael Laurberg gained expertise in liquidity management, financial derivatives, and analyzing financial and shipping markets.

From 2015 to 2019, Michael worked as a Portfolio Manager at Skandia Asset Management. In this role, they managed equity, fixed income, and foreign exchange portfolios for savings products and institutional clients. Michael Laurberg was also a member of the investment committee responsible for asset allocation decisions.

In 2019, Michael joined AP Pension as a Portfolio Manager. Michael Laurberg managed the FX exposure and hedging strategy across portfolios and played a role in developing the data management setup and automated reports. Additionally, they worked on building trade automation infrastructure and developing quantitative models for asset prices.

Most recently, Michael has been self-employed as a Private Investor since 2021. Michael Laurberg is currently with DS NORDEN as a Freight Derivatives Trader, where they are responsible for building out an FFA Option Trading Desk.

Michael Laurberg Jensen has a diverse education history. Michael Laurberg started their academic journey in 2006 by obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics & Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School, which they completed in 2009. During their undergraduate studies, they went on an exchange program and spent the fifth semester at Macquarie University, where they focused on Economics.

Following their bachelor's degree, Michael pursued a Master of Science degree in Applied Economics & Finance from Copenhagen Business School in 2009, which they completed in 2011. During this program, they specialized in Finance, Economics, and Econometrics.

In 2021, Michael began their most recent educational pursuit at Københavns Universitet, also known as the University of Copenhagen. Currently, they are working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics.

In addition to their formal education, Michael has also obtained several certifications. These include Data Visualizations with Plotly and Data Visualization in Python with Dash from LinkedIn, completed in March 2023 and February 2023, respectively. Michael Laurberg also earned a Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in May 2022. Furthermore, Michael has completed various courses related to programming, machine learning, and data science from institutions such as Microsoft, edX, and Coursera.
