Mickey Atkins

Mickey Atkins joined D&S in 2006 as the Company’s Chief Operating Officer and was promoted to CEO in 2007. He began his career in public accounting, but has spent the last 25 years in the health and human services field. Prior to joining the Company, he was CFO for a large home health agency that served the aged and disabled population. Since joining D&S, he has managed the overall success of the Company and built a management team and infrastructure to support quality standards and continued growth of the Company. His philosophy of treating people with respect and providing opportunities for everyone is a part of the D&S culture.

While Mickey resides in Austin, Texas, he serves on several committees in all three states to provide guidance in the enhancement of services provided by the programs D&S operates. He is heavily involved in all governmental and legislative relationships, advocating on behalf of our industries to ensure the needs of the IDD and aging populations are always at the forefront of policy makers. His involvement promotes protection and independence at the same time. Mickey is a unique President & CEO in that he is involved in all of the daily operations of the Company and his first priority is to ensure the needs of our individuals are met.
