Wouter Vloeberghs

Wouter Vloeberghs has extensive work experience in the field of information security, with a focus on cyber defense and infrastructure. Wouter currently holds the position of VP, Chief Information Security Officer at dsm-firmenich since 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Director, Global Information Security at Firmenich from 2018 to 2023, where they were responsible for implementing a comprehensive information security program. Before joining Firmenich, they held various roles at BT from 2012 to 2018, including Lead Consultant, NATO Cyber Defence, where they led the security strategy and team for the NATO account. Wouter also has experience as a Consultant at Ferranti Computer Systems, where they designed and implemented IT and OT network and security solutions for multinational companies. Wouter started their career as a Support Engineer at Telenet NV and as a Freelance IT Specialist working on event management projects, including the launch of "Tomorrowland" music festival. Wouter Vloeberghs pursued an Executive Program in Cybersecurity: Managing Risk in the Information Age at Harvard University in 2023. Prior to that, they completed a 1:1 Program for Executive Development at Boost Academy Switzerland from 2019 to 2023. In 2011, they participated in a Management & Leadership development programme at Krauthammer. Wouter holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Antwerp, which they obtained from 2005 to 2007. Wouter also obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electronics: Multimedia & Communication Technology from Karel de Grote University of Applied Sciences from 2002 to 2005. Additionally, they pursued E-Commerce/Electronic Commerce studies at the same university from 2001 to 2002. Wouter has obtained several certifications, including ISO 27001 Lead Implementer - Information Security Certification, Certified In Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), ITIL Foundation in IT Service Management (ITIL v4), Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert Security (CCIE).
