Rui Valente has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. They began their career in 1993 as a Technical Support Representative at TELECHAMADA, S.A., where they delivered messages to pager units and provided customer support. In 1995, they worked as a Teaching Support at Escola Básica 167, teaching mathematics and physics to students with learning problems.
In 2000, Rui took on a Technical Research Assistant internship at Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa, where they developed software to organize oceanographic data. They then worked as a Technical Research Assistant at the University of Oklahoma, collaborating on quality control of real-time radar data.
From 2003 to 2005, Rui worked as a Technical Research Specialist at the University of Reading, conducting a project on severe weather prediction. They analyzed atmospheric data, developed computer models, and delivered findings through reports and seminars.
In 2018, Rui joined Airbnb as a Customer Support Manager, where they designed and led a seamless customer experience. They communicated with customers remotely and managed the entire customer operation and scheduling.
In 2021, Rui worked at TheFoodMarket.com as a Customer Support Operations Manager, responding to customer queries through various channels. They also worked as a Customer Support Executive at the same company earlier in the year.
In 2022, Rui joined Duel Tech as a Brand Support Executive, where they supported brand advocacy and social commerce. In 2023, they continued their work at Duel Tech as a Brand Support.

Rui Valente's education history includes a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Meteorology from the University of Reading, which was obtained from 2000 to 2003.
