Marco Castagna

Marco Castagna has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Marco is currently serving as the President and CEO of Duferco Energia SpA, a company within the Duferco Group that operates in the Italian energy market. Marco initially joined the company in July 2019 to manage the Group's investments in renewable energy production, but their responsibilities have since expanded to include the commercialization of electricity and gas across all market segments.

Prior to their current role, Castagna was a member of the Board of Directors at Fratello Sole, a non-profit consortium focused on combating "fuel poverty." Marco joined the organization in December 2014.

Castagna also served as the President and CEO of Ferrania Ecologia SRL, where they oversaw the construction and management of the Cairo Montenotte biodigester, an advanced waste treatment facility. Marco held this position from July 2018 to July 2019.

Before their involvement with Ferrania Ecologia, Castagna worked as the Network Manager at Consedil Rete d'Imprese from February 2018 to June 2019. Marco also held a teaching position as a contract professor at the University of Genoa from December 2017 to February 2018.

In addition to their various professional roles, Castagna directed the Fondazione Muvita from June 2009 to December 2017. As director, they led the foundation's efforts in the field of sustainable development, particularly focusing on climate change adaptation and the development of the circular economy.

Furthermore, Castagna served as the President of AMIU Azienda Multiservizi e d'Igiene Urbana Genova S.p.A from July 2013 to October 2017. This company specialized in urban hygiene and multiple services.

Early in their career, Castagna held executive positions at Antea Comunicazione d'Impresa from 1999 to 2006 and HSL Comunicazione Finanziaria from 1991 to 1999.

Marco Castagna obtained a Master breve in gestione d'impresa from SOGEA in the academic year 2004-2005. Prior to that, from 1987 to 1994, they attended Università degli Studi di Genova and earned a Laurea in Scienze Politiche with a specialization in Politico economico.
