Terry Bates

Terry Bates is currently serving as an Assistant County Ranger at the North Carolina Forest Service since January 2024. Prior experience includes roles as Foreman at Duke's, Field Supervisor at Stewart, and SUE Investigator III at Colliers Engineering & Design. Bates has also worked as a Locator with USIC and as a Technician/Project Manager at Blood Hound Underground Utility Locators, specializing in CCTV operations, utility locating, and air excavation. Additional experience includes working as an Equipment Operator at ACE Towing & Transportation Inc., and in traffic management with NCDOT. Previous positions also include Lead Driver at Intercoastal Towing & Recovery Inc., and undertaking SUE work at ESP Associates, P.A. Educational qualifications include a degree in Firefighting and Fire Protection from Cape Fear Community College, OSHA 10 certification from MASC, and additional education from Montgomery Community College.
