James Holden

James Holden has a diverse work experience starting in 2014 with Teach For Australia, where they worked as a Teacher until 2016. From 2017 to 2019, they served as a Global Education Marketing Officer at the Department of State Growth (Tas). In 2019, they joined the Department of Education, Tasmania as a Marketing Manager and held the position until 2022. Currently, James Holden is employed at Duolingo as a Senior Strategic Engagement Manager.

James Holden began their education in 2010 at The Australian National University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations with a focus on German Studies. In 2013, they also completed a Diploma in Languages (Indonesian) at the same institution. During the same year, Holden attended Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana and obtained a Certificate of Advanced Indonesian through their Intensive Program of Language and Culture. In 2014, Holden enrolled at Deakin University, where they pursued a Master's degree in Secondary Education and Teaching, which they completed in 2016.
