John Mesmer began their work experience in 1999 at Powerhouse Gym, where they served as the Operations Manager, Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and Coordinator. In 2002, they became an Independent Contractor for Health, Strength, and Fitness, specializing in Strength and Conditioning. From 2013 to 2016, John worked as a Corrective Exercise Specialist at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Health & Wellness Center. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science in Aeronautics - Aviation and Aerospace Safety at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from 2016 to 2019, during which they also worked on research projects and completed a graduate capstone research project. In 2017, John became a Second Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol - United States Air Force Auxiliary Volunteer, a position they held until 2020. Finally, starting in 2019, John has been involved with the DuPage Airport Authority and DuPage Flight Center in the Operations role.
John Mesmer completed their Master of Science in Aeronautics with a focus on Aviation and Aerospace Safety Systems from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University between 2016 and 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a specialization in Exercise Science/ Motor Behavior and Psychology. In addition to their degrees, John also attained certifications in "Introduction to Incident Command ICS 100 (IS-100.b)" and "Introduction to Incident Command System ICS (IS - 700.a)" from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in April 2017.
