John J. Heiderscheidt

John J. Heiderscheidt is a dedicated School Safety Specialist at the DuPage Regional Office of Education since September 2021, with extensive experience in safety and security practices. As a Consultant and Grant Writer for Grant Specialties LLC since 2004, John focuses on building capacity to improve the quality of life for community members. A founding member of the Northern Illinois School Safety Administrators Association since August 2018, John contributes to enhancing school safety through collaboration with various educational and professional organizations. Previously, John served as the Director of Safety and Culture at School District U-46 until 2021, and as a Police Officer with the Village of Buffalo Grove from 1984 to 2006, where responsibilities included school safety coordination and juvenile oversight. John's educational background includes a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Western Illinois University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from North Central College, along with additional certifications in delinquency control and business administration.
