Ciaran Westgate

Ciaran Westgate currently serves as the Deputy Curator of Herpetology & Invertebrates at Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, a role held since February 2021, and also leads the herpetology team while previously holding the position of Senior Keeper in the same department. Prior experience includes a position as a Zookeeper at Tilgate Nature Centre from March 2015 to January 2021, an Entertainments Assistant at Merlin Entertainments from June 2013 to March 2015, and volunteer work as an Animal Care Assistant at RSPCA Reptile Rescue from August 2013 to October 2014. Ciaran began the career in animal care with an Animal Care Assistant role at Plumpton College while pursuing an Extended Diploma in Animal Management, specializing in Zoology and Animal Biology, from September 2012 to June 2014.
