Doug Cubin

Doug Cubin has a diverse work experience in the field of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and film production. Doug has worked as a GIS Technical Delivery Lead at Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water since 2023. Prior to that, they founded and directed GIS Coordinated Ltd - "GISCO" since 2000, where they provided technical design, development, and support for GIS platforms. Doug has experience with ESRI products such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS OnLine, as well as integration with other technologies like SAP, Azure, AWS, Salesforce, and Tableau. Additionally, they have worked as a Producer/Director at Sawscale Films as a hobby since 2011.

Doug Cubin has also worked at Thames Water as a TCS ArcGIS Architect from 2021 to 2022, primarily involved in the rollout of ArcGIS Enterprise Portal and Field Maps for waste engineers. At Severn Trent, they worked as a GIS Solution Architect from 2018 to 2021, focusing on GIS platform upgrade and migration to Azure, and providing architectural support in areas such as BIO Renewables and Leakage. Doug also founded and managed Point4Info Solutions Limited from 2010 to 2018, which specialized in hardware for geospatial solutions and developed mobile GIS applications.

Other roles in Doug Cubin's work experience include Applications Consultant (GIS) at United Utilities from 2015 to 2017, where they deployed various GIS technologies and integrated with webMethods/SOA. Doug Cubin started their career as a GIS Designer at Severn Trent Water, where they assisted in implementing the corporate strategy and creating web-based applications using OGC (WMS) and height services.

Doug Cubin attended The University of Huddersfield from 1987 to 1990, studying Computer Science. However, they did not earn a specific degree during this time.
