David Castillo has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. David started their career in 1996 as an Assistant Cameraman and went on to work as a Technical Advisor at Maine Media Workshops + College, where they advised on camera purchases and guest lectured on digital workflows. David then moved on to Canon USA, where they worked as a Senior Technical Representative, developing marketing and brand recognition plans for a range of digital camcorders and projectors.
In 2008, David became an Instructor at the Digital Film Academy, teaching digital filmmaking and media education. David also founded their content creation agency, Blue Barn Pictures, Inc., where they served as the Owner and Creative Director until December 2020.
David's photography skills led him to work as a Photographer at Photos by Castillo, specializing in C-suite, editorial lifestyle, family portraits, and art reproductions. David has worked with corporate clients such as Edelman, Canon, Etsy, and PWC.
In 2020, David joined Coffee & Bananaz as the Chief Creative Officer, where they focus on acquiring fashion-focused clients and helping entrepreneurs and brands grow their businesses.
Most recently, in 2023, David joined DxO Labs as the Products Liaison for North America, where they design and markets advanced photo editing software for photographers.
David Castillo began their education in 1994 at the Academy of Art University, where they studied photography until 1995. In 1996, they attended Maine Media and obtained a certificate in film. Moreover, in June 2000, they became a professional member of the Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers (SMPTE), obtaining a certification from this institution.
