John Winkler

Senior Aerodynamicist / Program Manager at DZYNE Technologies

John Winkler has worked in the aerospace engineering field since 1996. John began their career at Boeing as an Engineer Scientist Specialist, where they supported the Advanced Vehicle Integration and Design System (AVIDS) program for aerodynamics, and the Blended Wing Body (BWB) wing design effort as a CFD analyst. In 1999, they moved to Swift Engineering as a Senior Aerodynamicist and Chief Aerodynamicist, where they were involved in the aerodynamic development of various vehicles and supervised the installation of Swift's Cray HPC cluster for CFD analysis. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as an Aerodynamics Engineer at Boeing. Since 2002, they have also been a Part-time Lecturer at the University of Southern California, teaching AME527, Advanced Vehicle and Energy Systems Design, and AME459, Aircraft Flight Mechanics, to both graduate and undergraduate students. In 2015, they began their current role as Senior Aerodynamicist / Program Manager at DZYNE Technologies.

John Winkler obtained their B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology between 1987 and 1991. John then went on to earn their Ph.D. and M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 1991 and 1996.
