James M. Watt

Dr. James M. Watt has a diverse work history in the field of life sciences. James M. has been working as the VP for Life Sciences at Eagle Health Analytics since 2020. Prior to that, they held the same position at Eagle Global Scientific starting from 2013. In this role, they provided subject matter expertise to various sectors and gave direction for business development and contract management.

In addition, Dr. Watt served as the General Manager & Chief Scientist at Eagle Medical Services, LLC since 2013, where they had overall responsibility for scientific activities. James M. also worked as the Chief Scientist at Eagle Applied Sciences, LLC from 2010 to 2013. In this role, they were responsible for maintaining scientific and technological standards and provided management for public health programs at different divisions of the CDC.

Before joining the Eagle group, Dr. Watt worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Mississippi State University from 2008 to 2010. James M. also held the position of Senior Scientist at Altimmune, Inc. from 2004 to 2008, where they focused on vaccine development.

Dr. Watt began their career as an NIH Post-Doctoral Scholar at UAB Medicine from 2001 to 2004.

James M. Watt, PhD began their education at Mississippi State University in 1996, where they pursued a degree in Molecular Microbiology. James M. completed their studies in 2001, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Following this, from 2001 to 2004, Watt attended the UAB School of Medicine as an NIH Post-Doctoral Scholar, specializing in the UAB Department of Microbiology. In terms of additional certifications, Watt obtained a Microarray Technology Certification from the J. Craig Venter Institute in April 2009. In July 2010, they obtained a HIPPA certification from HIPAA Training. In 2015, they earned an Executive Leadership Certification from Emory University-Goizueta Business School. Additionally, that same year, they gained certification in the EpiCore Global Surveillance Project - Digital Diseases Detection from ProMED-mail, a program at the International Society for Infectious Diseases.
