Maya Degasperi

Maya DeGasperi is an experienced legal and environmental professional with a strong background in environmental justice and advocacy. Currently serving as a Litigation Assistant at Earthjustice since July 2021, Maya provides legal orientation services to detained individuals in Maryland and Virginia. Previous roles include Fellow Legal Assistant at the Capital Area Immigrants' Rights Coalition and Environmental Justice Research Intern at Minnesota Brownfields, where Maya focused on incorporating environmental justice into analyses of contaminated sites. A graduate of Macalester College with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and Geography, Maya has also held various positions related to research, teaching assistance, and community outreach, demonstrating a commitment to environmental advocacy and social justice.
