Senior Development Engineer at East Point Energy

Tom DeAngelis is currently a Senior Development Engineer at East Point Energy. Prior to this, they worked as a Research and Data Intern at ORB from September 2019 to December 2019, where they assisted with the development of research projects, performed data quality control, employed quantitative and qualitative techniques to analyze data, and wrote reports for clients summarizing insights. Tom also worked as a Consultant Intern at IES Ltd. from June 2018 to August 2018, where they learned how to use Virtual Environment software to model the geometry and HVAC systems of buildings, analyzed HVAC systems and building envelopes in an attempt to improve energy efficiency, studied ASHRAE 90.1 Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings, and worked on reports that assisted clients in achieving LEED green certification.

Tom DeAngelis has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia. Tom also has a Certificate of Business Fundamentals from the McIntire Business Institute at the University of Virginia, which covers accounting, finance, marketing, management, and negotiation.
