Benson Chen

Benson Chen has a solid background in software engineering and DevOps. Benson recently joined East Side Games in 2018 and currently holds the position of Senior DevOps Engineer. Prior to this, they served as a DevOps Engineer and Senior Software Engineer at the company. During their time at East Side Games, Benson was responsible for various important tasks including server-side code and infrastructure management, ensuring service availability and reliability, and implementing new features. Benson played a key role in improving the backend architecture, automating operational tasks, and migrating backend servers using Docker with AWS ECS and Secrets Manager. Benson also worked at BASE株式会社 from 2012 to 2017 as a Software Engineer, where they were assigned to Mizuho Securities Co., Ltd. on a full-time basis.

Benson Chen completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from The University of British Columbia, where they studied from 2006 to 2011. In addition to their degree, they also obtained certifications such as GitLab Certified Associate from GitLab in June 2021, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in July 2022, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate in September 2019, and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner in May 2019.
