Craig Cheney

Craig Cheney, a Vice President in ERG’s Digital and Information Solutions Group, has a long and distinguished career as a contractor leading and managing large environmental and energy projects for federal clients. He has managed major programs at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Energy, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Craig combines a deep knowledge of how environmental and energy programs need to work to achieve their intended outcomes with insights into how modern digital tools can better make this happen. He has led major business process evaluations and participated in highly visible federal projects, including DOE’s environmental Tiger Teams and whistleblower investigations.

Craig’s EPA work, which spans his entire career, includes support to EPA’s Office of Water and Office of Environmental Information for their E-Enterprise Initiative and enterprise architecture programs; support to EPA Office of Mission Support’s Cloud Strategy and Cloud Readiness Assessment programs, E-Enterprise Portal, and Grants System alternatives analysis; and projects for EPA’s Office of Air and Office of Land and Emergency Management. His DOE work includes management of programs as large as $60 million and development and delivery of IT management training and certification programs for DOE’s Project Management Career Development Program.

Craig has an A.B. in history and classics from Bowdoin College and an M.P.A from the University of Minnesota's Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs. Outside of work, he enjoys being with his family, traveling, and playing his newfound hobby, golf, learned during the pandemic.
