Thawfeek Varusai

Thawfeek Varusai is a seasoned computational biologist with extensive experience in biomedical data analysis and curation. Currently serving as a Computational Biologist at Biorelate Ltd. since January 2022, Thawfeek is focused on generating knowledge to drive research efforts. At the European Bioinformatics Institute | EMBL-EBI, Thawfeek has held roles as a Data Analyst and Scientific Database Curator & Trainer since February 2016, contributing to the BioModels database and currently managing the Reactome repository, which focuses on cellular reactions and pathways. Thawfeek earned a PhD in Systems Biology from University College Dublin, where research concentrated on the mTOR signalling network, and previously worked as a Junior Research Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, studying Mycobacterium tuberculosis dynamics. Educational background includes a Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from PSG College of Technology.
