Norbert Bäckert

Norbert Bäckert is currently the Head of the Network Division at EBL. Prior to this, they were with ALSTOM Power O&M Ltd. from October 2009 to September 2015, where they were the Manager Offer Team. In this role, they were responsible for ensuring market-driven offers that were aligned with customer evaluation criteria, EPC offer strategy, and internal requirements for operation and maintenance contracts, long-term service contracts, and spare parts offers. Norbert also maximized and optimized earnings from the offered service contracts and ensured professional risk management in the sales phase to ensure the long-term success of the offered service contracts. Additionally, they were responsible for ensuring continuous optimization of internal guidelines and tools for the creation of operation and maintenance contracts, long-term service contracts, and spare parts offers, as well as their adaptation to changing market conditions. Norbert was also the line manager for six offer managers and was responsible for the recruitment and development of their direct reports, as well as setting the strategic direction of the group in terms of staff levels, training, and international cooperation.

Prior to their role at ALSTOM Power O&M Ltd., Norbert was with ALSTOM Power (Switzerland) Ltd. from November 1999 to September 2009 as the Group Leader for Start-up of Generators and Electrical Systems. In this role, they were responsible for a team of 20 employees in start-up projects for generators and electrical systems at customer sites worldwide.

Norbert Bäckert studied electrical engineering and automation technology at the Konstanz University of Applied Sciences and graduated with a degree in engineering. Norbert then went on to study business administration and engineering at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences, where they earned a master's degree in advanced studies. Finally, they completed an executive master's program in business administration and engineering at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences.
