Michael Orloff, Senior Associate at ECG, specializes in strategic planning, market & competitive intelligence, technology commercialization and business development in the energy, environmental and industrial sectors. At ECG, Michael is focused on analyzing and assessing market opportunities for new technologies, evaluating operational and supply chain improvement opportunities, conducting VOC engagements, analyzing competitive intelligence and developing operational & growth strategies for ECG’s clients.
Prior to joining ECG, Michael held engineering, marketing, sales and business development positions at General Electric, Cadbury Schweppes, Alcoa, Kennametal and Fulton Iron. At Fulton Iron, he was responsible for sales of machining and welding services for global leaders in the pump and marine equipment industries. At Kennametal, he managed the commercialization of wear-resistant materials in the aluminum, steel and minerals processing industries. Michael was responsible for developing and implementing strategic and product management priorities, expanding the customer base and sourcing ceramic and metal-matrix composite coatings, claddings & lining materials for industrial machinery applications. At Alcoa, he applied statistical process control methods to improve the efficiency of the energy-intensive aluminum smelting process. At Cadbury Schweppes, he was responsible for implementing energy efficiency improvements to their applesauce cooking and juice filtration processes. At General Electric, Michael held engineering positions at their nuclear fuel manufacturing and fluorescent light manufacturing facilities.
He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University and an MBA in Marketing from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
