Mahnaz Akbari has been working in the IT field since 1999. Mahnaz began their career as a Senior System Administrator at TMCSO (Tehran Municipality Computer Services Organization). In 2002, they moved to KEPCO as an IT Specialist. From 2006-2014, they worked at DATAK Telecom as a Senior System Administrator. During this time, they installed, setup, configured, maintained, and upgraded Solaris on SUN & X86 platforms, and setup connections with other platforms via TCP/IP. In 2014, they became a Software Developer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 2015, they became a Data Scientist Intern at Lands' End. In 2016, they moved to KOHL'S Corporate Office as a Data Analyst - ML. Here, they designed, developed, and ran AB tests, and used SAS and Python to data mine and answer business questions. In 2020, they moved to Insight Global as a Data Scientist and Data Engineer. In this role, they delivered end to end solutions in a timely manner, built pipelines to retrieve data from various sources, and wrote complex queries to answer business questions. Finally, in 2022, they moved to Echodyne as a Sr. Data Engineer.
Mahnaz Akbari holds a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mathematics in Computer Science from Azad University - Tehran, where they studied from 1989 to 1994. Mahnaz then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 2009 to 2011, followed by a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2013 to 2015. In addition, they have obtained several certifications from LinkedIn, Coursera, and Lynda.com, including "SQL for Exploratory Data Analysis Essential Training" (2020), "Advanced SQL for Data Science: Time Series" (2020), "Statistics Foundations: 1" (2019), "Statistics Foundations: 2" (2019), "Statistics Foundations: 3" (2019), "Deep Learning Specialization" (2019), "Managing Technical Teams" (2017), "Project Management Foundations" (2017), "Value-Based Pricing" (2017), "Introduction to Web Design and Development" (2017), "NoSQL for SQL Professionals" (2017), "Learning Cloud Computing: Core Concepts" (2017), "Foundations of Programming: Data Structures" (2015), "Foundations of Programming: Object-Oriented Design" (2014), and "Managing and Analyzing Data in Excel 2010" (2014).
