Dr. Eliza McCall-Horne joined Eckerd Connects in 2018 as the Associate Executive Director before advancing to her new role as the Executive Director of Eckerd Connects’ lead agency in Hillsborough County. Eliza brings with her more than two decades of experience in child welfare of which 14 years include experience in leadership, non-profit management, and program development.
A child welfare expert, Eliza’s leadership has resulted in successfully establishing effective relationships and agency partnerships focused on improving the quality of services for children and families. Prior to joining Eckerd Connects, Eliza started her career with the Florida Department of Children and Families in the field as a case manager. She has since served as Executive Director for Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS) overseeing Circuits 10 and 13 where she was instrumental in the development of the Community Partnership School in Hillsborough County and the Case Aim innovation in Polk County. Eliza also previously served as the Director of Quality Management for Heartland for Children.
Eliza is a driving force in accountability and has a reputation for leadership in both Operations and Quality Management. A servant leader, her purpose and passion lay in improving outcomes for children and families.
Eliza earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and her master’s degree from Florida A&M University, later earning a doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. She is a devoted wife and mother to 3 biological children and 2 foster children.
