Chafik Hilal

Chafik Hilal is senior vice president and general manager India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) and Industrial IMEA for Ecolab Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources.

In this dual role, Hilal has leadership responsibility for Ecolab’s operations in IMEA and leads Ecolab’s Industrial business within the region.

Hilal joined Ecolab in January 2018 and in June 2018, assumed the role of vice president and general manager of Nalco Water, an Ecolab company, in the Middle East and Africa (MEA). In June 2019, Hilal was named vice president and general manager for MEA in addition to leading the Nalco Water business for the region. He was promoted to his current role on December 1, 2019.

Hilal has more than 20 years of global experience in general management, sales, marketing and product/program management. While working for Rockwell Collins, he held several management positions in France, the U.S. and United Arab Emirates, including managing director for Africa, Middle East and Turkey.

Hilal holds an MBA from the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Hilal is of Moroccan descent and speaks Arabic, English and French.
