Traci Underwood

Traci Underwood is an experienced policy director currently serving at the Economic Opportunity Institute since September 2022. Previously, Traci was a part-time instructor at the University of Washington School of Social Work from September 2019 to September 2022, where Traci taught SOCW 501 Poverty & Inequality, focusing on the intersections of policy, practice, poverty, and race in the United States. Traci's extensive experience also includes a role as Program Coordinator for the Economic Justice Project at the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence from March 2007 to September 2022, leading initiatives to enhance economic resilience for survivors of domestic violence. Earlier work includes serving as an Economic Justice Project Specialist and as a research interviewer at Battelle. Traci holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Psychology from Queens University of Charlotte.
