Josh Cowley

Josh Cowley has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Josh started their career as a Supervisor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Arizona in 1992, where they supervised students in the layout and design of a multivariable calculus textbook. In 1995, they transitioned to the Department of Philosophy at the same university, working as a Research/Teaching Assistant & Instructor. During this time, they worked on various projects, including the NSF and DARPA artificial intelligence project OSCAR, and also conducted statistical analysis for a psychology study on the neural correlates of empathy. In 2004, Josh joined Bilkent University as an Assistant Professor, teaching courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels and supervising undergraduate theses. Josh also served as the student exchange coordinator, facilitating placements in international universities. In 2014, they moved to Dokuz Eylul University as an Instructor in the Department of Business Administration. Finally, Josh joined Ecospend in 2019, holding several roles such as Lead Researcher and Project Coordinator, Head of Data Science, Head of Data and Payment Gateway, and currently serving as Head of Security and Data.

Josh Cowley obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Arizona between 1991 and 1995. Subsequently, they pursued further education at the same university from 1995 to 2004, earning a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Cognitive Science.
