Dieng Abdourahmane, PhD, serves as the Head of the Regional Security Division at the ECOWAS Commission and has been in this position since October 2005, also holding the title of Permanent Secretary of the West African Police Chiefs Committee. Responsibilities include overseeing maritime security, counter-terrorism, security sector and defense reform, and combating transnational organized crime, in addition to coordinating the ECOWAS Committee of Chiefs of Security/Intelligence Services. Prior experience includes serving as Programme Officer for Small Arms at the Ministère des Forces Armées du Sénégal and as Legal Adviser and Head of the Study and Litigation Division at the Training School of Gendarmerie. Dieng Abdourahmane's educational background includes multiple degrees in Strategy and Security as well as Political Science, with a PhD in Strategy and Security from Nasarawa State University and another PhD in Political Science from Atlantic International University.
