Chris Abbs

Chris Abbs is an accomplished engineering professional with over three decades of experience in the energy sector. Currently serving as Technical Lead for Gas Systems at EDF Energy since November 2008, Chris specializes in gases such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen, oxygen, helium, hydrogen, and methane. Prior to this role, Chris worked as a Senior Engineer at British Energy from May 2001 to November 2008, where responsibilities included leading a large CO2 and steam plant refurbishment project. Earlier experience includes serving as an Engineer at Nuclear Electric from November 1990 to May 2001, focusing on the design and safety of nuclear cranes and lifting equipment. Chris holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bradford, obtained between 1981 and 1985.
