James Perkinson

James Perkinson has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. James is currently serving as the Director of Energy Storage Product Management at EDF Renewables North America since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Aurora Flight Sciences Corporation as a Senior Electrical Power Systems Engineer from 2018 to 2022, where they were responsible for the design of electric propulsion systems. Before that, they served as the Manager of Advanced Grid Engineering at National Grid from 2013 to 2018, where they led a team in the development of innovative strategies for the electric T&D system. James also worked as a Member of Technical Staff at Fraunhofer USA from 2012 to 2013, where they led a team in the creation of a Fraunhofer Nanogrid laboratory. James has also held several roles at Satcon Technology Corporation from 2004 to 2012, including Sr. Director of Product Management, Director of Applications and Field Engineering, Director of Field Engineering, Software Group Leader, Communications Group Leader, and Electrical Engineer. Additionally, James worked at Barrett Technology Inc as an Electrical Research Engineer from 2000 to 2003, and at Bluefin Robotics as an Electrical Engineering Coop in 2002. James started their career at Sikorsky Aircraft as an Armament Systems Engineer Coop from 1999 to 1999.

James Perkinson attended Northeastern University from 1998 to 2005, earning a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
