Jean-Benoit Ritz serves as Chief Technology Officer at EDF Trading since September 2020, focusing on data, IT, quantitative analysis, and innovation. Prior experience includes a role as Director of Innovation at EDF Energy from September 2015 to August 2020, and Executive Director at EDF Energy R&D UK Centre Ltd. from September 2010 to June 2015, overseeing the establishment of the research center with 80 researchers dedicated to low carbon generation and customer solutions. From September 2000 to May 2010, Jean-Benoit Ritz worked as Head of R&D for Energy Efficiency and Renewable in Buildings at EDF, where innovation efforts included the development of a patented High Temperature Heat Pump. In tandem, Jean-Benoit Ritz taught Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, and Thermal Transferts at ENSTA and Mines Paris. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy with honors in Computational Physics (Fluid Mechanics) from Université de Bordeaux and further studies at Polytechnique Montréal.
