Head Of Environmental Products at EDF Trading

Thomas Schroder has a diverse work experience, with their most recent position as the Head of Environmental Products at EDF Trading starting in 2023. Prior to this, they held various roles at South Pole, including Head of Climate Action and Director of Marketing Communications, from 2014 to 2023. Thomas also served as a Member of the Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee at Waverley Council from 2019 to 2022. Thomas was the Chair of the Board of Directors at Natural Carbon Pty Ltd from 2018 to 2020 and a Member of the Board of Directors at Climate-KIC Australia from 2016 to 2020. Additionally, they held positions at Climate Friendly, m-way, Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund, and Cushman&Wakefield earlier in their career. Thomas also took a sabbatical for paternity leave in 2014.

Thomas Schroder has a diverse education history. Thomas obtained a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of St.Gallen, where they studied from 2003 to 2008. Prior to that, they completed a Diplom-Kaufmann in Business Administration at Universität des Saarlandes from 1994 to 1998. In 1996, they participated in an exchange program at Paris School of Business, focusing on Business Administration. Before entering higher education, they completed their High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates at Otto-Pankok Schule Mülheim from 1985 to 1994.

In addition to their university degrees, Thomas Schroder also pursued additional certifications. In 2019, they completed the Climate Reality Leadership Training program offered by The Climate Reality Project. In 2014, they obtained the Google Certified Professional certification from Google.

More recently, in 2019, Schroder attended the Financial Education Professionals to study the Regulation of Australian Financial Services. In 2023, they obtained a certificate from The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI) through their Capital Markets Programme.
