Daryl Katz

Hailing from Edmonton, Daryl Katz was born and raised with an unwavering passion for the Oilers. His roots run deep in the team's storied history, and his ultimate mission is to lay the groundwork for a triumphant tradition while bringing the coveted Stanley Cup back to the City of Champions.

In 2008, Daryl embarked on the journey that would eventually lead to the establishment of OEG Inc., formerly known as Oilers Entertainment Group. Presently, OEG Inc. stands as a prominent force in North American sports, entertainment, and hospitality sectors. Within this conglomerate resides OEG Sports & Entertainment (OEGSE), a diverse portfolio encompassing the iconic Edmonton Oilers franchise, the AHL's Bakersfield Condors, the WHL's Edmonton Oil Kings, world-renowned entertainment venues and events such as Rogers Place, ICE District Plaza, and the Fan Park, a philanthropic foundation of industry distinction, and the esteemed film production company, Dark Castle Entertainment.

With a profound dedication to community development, Daryl Katz has invested substantial resources, time, and effort into crafting the award-winning ICE District in Edmonton. This visionary project has revitalized the heart of the city, transforming it into a dynamic, walkable, and sustainable sports and entertainment hub. ICE District features an array of new commercial, residential, and public amenities, with Rogers Place at its epicenter, serving as both home to the Edmonton Oilers and a premier North American entertainment venue. Buzzing with events and vibrancy, ICE District marks a thrilling renaissance of Edmonton's urban core.

Daryl Katz earned his degree from the University of Alberta's Faculty of Law in 1985. He and his wife, Renee, take pride in being loving parents to Harrison and Chloe, who are also the co-founders of the impactful charitable initiative, Hockey Helps Kids. Additionally, Daryl actively contributes to the National Hockey League Board of Governors, further solidifying his commitment to the world of hockey and community-building.
