Mike Horsinka

Mike Horsinka is a highly experienced engineer specializing in opto-mechanical design, with a strong background in the aerospace and defense sectors. Currently serving as a Principal Opto-Mechanical Design Engineer at Edmund Optics since June 2023, Mike previously held roles including Principal Engineer at II-VI Aerospace & Defense, where responsibilities included leading a small team to design semiconductor laser products. Mike has extensive experience in custom manufacturing equipment design for various industries, demonstrated through roles at CAID Automation and General Plasma Inc. Notable contributions include the development of the SOLquick™ solar module at SOLON Corporation, as well as foundational work at Newport Corporation and Optotools GmbH. Mike Horsinka holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Fachhochschule Darmstadt.
