Veronica Diaz, PhD, CAE has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Veronica is currently the Senior Director of Professional Learning and Development at EDUCAUSE, where they oversee a portfolio of professional learning programs and career development activities. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Professional Learning and the Director of Online Programs & Associate Director of the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative. Veronica has also worked as an Associate Director for the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative, where they were a thought leader in teaching and learning in higher education. Additionally, they have experience as an Editorial Board Member for the Teaching Online Pedagogical Repository (TOPR) at the University of Central Florida. Veronica's career began at the U.S. Department of Education, where they worked as a Grant Writer, Field Reader, and Evaluator. Veronica has also worked as a Consultant, Faculty Member, and Instructional Technologies Manager at various institutions, including Northern Arizona University, Maricopa Community Colleges, University of Arizona, Pima Community College, and Lake Tahoe Community College. Veronica's expertise lies in professional learning, online programs, teaching and learning, and instructional technologies.
Veronica Diaz, PhD, CAE has an extensive education history spanning various fields of study. Veronica began their academic journey at UC San Diego from 1989 to 1992, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science/Pre Law. Following this, they pursued a Master of Education degree in Education/Counseling at the University of San Diego, completing their studies from 1992 to 1994.
Veronica's educational pursuits continued as they enrolled at the University of Arizona from 2000 to 2004. During this time, they focused on Science and Technology Policy and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree. In 2008 to 2009, Veronica attended the Frye Leadership Institute at EDUCAUSE, where they delved into Higher Education Leadership.
Apart from their formal education, Veronica Diaz has also obtained several certifications. In 2019, they became a Certified Association Executive (CAE) through ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership. In the following year, they became a Credly Client Advisory Board Member, further showcasing their dedication to professional growth.
Veronica's involvement in the field of education and technology is evident through their participation in numerous conferences and seminars. Veronica served as a presenter and advisory committee member for EDUCAUSE, including the ELI/Penn State ID2ID Advisory Committee in 2017 and the EDUCAUSE Online Presenter in 2016. Additionally, they engaged with The New Media Consortium at the 2008 NMC Summer Conference.
