Jason Plautz is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in reporting, freelance writing, and teaching within the field of journalism. Currently serving as a reporter for E&E News since May 2022, Jason previously worked as a freelance journalist from May 2018 to October 2022, contributing to prominent outlets like Science, Mother Jones, and HuffPost. Jason has also held academic roles as an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado Boulder and as a Scripps Fellow in Environmental Journalism. Earlier positions include energy and environment correspondent for National Journal and reporter for Environment & Energy Publishing, covering critical issues related to transportation and environmental policy.
