Laura Maggi

Laura Maggi is an experienced journalist with a strong background in editing and reporting within various media organizations. Currently serving as the Natural Resources Editor at E&E News since January 2021, Laura previously held the position of Managing Editor at Route Fifty from May 2018 to December 2020, where oversight included supervision of reporters and content related to state and local government policy. As Metro Editor at The Advocate from June 2014 to May 2018, Laura managed local desks in Louisiana, leading a team of assistant editors and reporters. Additional roles include Deputy Editor at The New Orleans Advocate and Reporter at The Times-Picayune, alongside earlier experience as a Writing Fellow at The American Prospect and Reporter for States News Service. Laura holds a BA in history from Clark University.
