Trevor MacDougall has a wealth of experience in the field of optical engineering, spanning over several decades. Trevor began their career at 3M as a Senior Research Specialist, where they worked from 1986 to 1998. Following this, they joined CiDRA Corporation as the Director of Optical Component Engineering. In 2002, Trevor moved to Weatherford as the Director of Engineering - Optical Sensing until 2006. Trevor then co-founded QOREX in 2007, where they designed and manufactured advanced fiber optic sensing systems for harsh environments. Trevor served as a Co-Founder of QOREX until 2012 when they joined Petrospec Engineering Ltd. as the VP of Fiber Optics Engineering and Operations. In 2017, they co-founded LuxPoint Inc. and held the role of Co-Founder until 2020. Trevor then became a Technical Advisor at Lumeda Inc. in 2020 and subsequently served as the Co-Founder and VP of Engineering until 2023. Currently, Trevor is the Sr. Director of Hardware Engineering at EFFECT Photonics.
Trevor MacDougall received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island from 1980 to 1984. Trevor then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bridgeport between 1986 and 1988.
