Cameron Barnes

Cameron Barnes is the Founder and Principal Consultant at Effective Emergence, a position held since April 2023. Prior to this role, Cameron served as the Director of Effective Philanthropy and Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships at Taproot Foundation from November 2019 to April 2023. At United Way of Metro Chicago, from August 2015 to November 2019, Cameron worked as a Relationship Manager, developing engagement plans and designing campaign strategies that raised over $16 million. Additional experience includes a role as Loaned Executive at US2020 and AmeriCorps VISTA, where Cameron managed nonprofit and corporate partnerships and contributed to defining national KPI standards. Early career experience includes serving as Circulation Manager at Northern Star Newspaper, where Cameron oversaw staff and maintained business relationships. Cameron holds a degree in Community Leadership & Civic Engagement and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Northern Illinois University.
