Ranjith Anand

Director, Synthetic Biology at eGenesis

Ranjith Anand has a diverse work experience in the fields of synthetic biology, microbiology, and genetic engineering. Ranjith began their career as an R&D Assistant at the Jawaharlal Nehru Center for Advanced Scientific Research in 2001. Later, they pursued a Ph.D. at Tufts University and worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Brandeis University. Ranjith also took on roles such as Microbiology Consultant at Aeronaut Brewing Company, Organism Engineer at Ginkgo Bioworks, and Director of Synthetic Biology at eGenesis, Inc. Ranjith'swork involved DNA repair mechanisms, CRISPR/Cas9 technology, molecular cloning, and gene targeting methods. Ranjith also gained experience teaching courses on biomolecules, genetic engineering, and engaging in STEM outreach programs.

Ranjith Anand completed a B.Sc. in Biology from Mahatma Gandhi University in 1998. Ranjith then obtained an Msc in Biotechnology from Pondicherry University in 2001. Subsequently, they earned a PhD in Molecular Biology from Tufts University in 2010. Following this, they pursued a Post-Doctoral fellowship in DNA repair at Brandeis University from 2010 to 2014. In 2016, Ranjith Anand received a certification in "Initiating and Planning Projects" from Coursera Course Certificates.
