Elius Etienne has a diverse work experience in software engineering and development. Elius is currently employed as a Software Engineer at Eigen Technologies since March 2021. Previously, they worked at Wayaj as a Full-stack Developer from September 2020 to February 2021, where they developed an online platform using the Angular framework and the Google Cloud Platform for sustainability score computation.
Before that, Elius worked at Esquare Gateway Inc from March 2019 to December 2020 as a Mobile Application Developer. Elius developed two mobile applications for iOS and Android using the Ionic framework and handled the full lifecycle of the apps.
From 2017 to 2020, they worked at Gedeon GRC Consulting. Initially, they served as a Full-stack Developer, where they created an applicant tracking system platform using PostgreSQL and Django/Python. Elius implemented smart and fast search capabilities using NLP techniques. Later, they took on the role of a Water Resources Engineer, working on a project to create an online platform that allows companies to score themselves and bid for projects advertised by NYSDOT.
Elius also worked at Sensaq from November 2017 to December 2019 as a Machine Learning Researcher. Elius developed algorithms for time series aggregation and anomaly detection, designed and developed an online platform for time series data analysis using Angular and Python, and built RESTful APIs for data operations.
Elius gained research experience at City College of New York, where they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant from September 2013 to May 2017, focusing on large scale climate and crop data analysis. Elius also served as a Teaching Assistant, assisting in teaching various civil engineering courses and managing lab groups. Additionally, they worked as a Research Assistant, developing a SQL-based online repository for hydrological models' uncertainty data.
Elius had a summer internship as a NOAA Summer Intern at I. M. Systems Group Inc. in 2016. Prior to that, they worked at Concert-Action as a Project Manager from October 2007 to June 2010. In this role, they successfully managed the construction of various projects including cisterns, a coffee processing plant, houses, and drainage channels.

Elius Etienne began their education journey at UEH/FAMV from 2002 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Water Resources & Environmental Engineering. Elius continued their studies at The City College of New York from 2010 to 2012, obtaining a Master's degree in Sustainability in the Urban Environment. Finally, from 2012 to 2017, Etienne pursued a PhD in Water Resources Engineering at the City University of New York City College.
