Derek Carroll

Derek Carroll is an experienced engineering professional specializing in network design and power systems. Currently serving as Network Design Manager and Principal Engineer at EirGrid Group since October 2014, Derek has previously held various senior engineering roles at Transpower, including Senior Investigations Engineer and Senior Operations Planning Engineer, where Derek contributed to critical analysis and operational support. Derek's earlier experience includes work as a Senior Professional Engineer and Power System Engineer at EirGrid, focusing on transmission network studies and control centre operations. Derek began their career as an intern at C.E. Niehoff, where responsibilities included product testing and certification.
