Mark Needham

Mark Needham is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in energy markets and engineering. Currently serving as the Energy Markets’ Policy Manager and I-SEM Leader at EirGrid Group since January 2014, Mark leads the Post Go-Live Production Support for the Integrated Single Electricity Market (I-SEM). Mark previously held roles such as Principal Project Engineer, where the establishment of the Project Management Office for the European Market Integration Project was achieved, and Innovation and Planning Programme Delivery Lead, focusing on governance and business architecture. At EirGrid since 2017, Mark has also functioned as SEM Market Development Leader and I-SEM Market Trial Leader, coordinating a team of professionals and market participants for the new electricity markets. Prior experience includes roles as Commercial & Pricing Principal Engineer at EirGrid and Sales Manager at Testworks. Mark's educational background includes a Master of Business Administration from University College Dublin and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Engineering from the University of Galway.
