Olakunle Alao

Olakunle Alao, Ph.D, currently serves as a Senior Energy Economist at EirGrid Group since January 2023, following extensive experience as an Energy Consultant for POWER FUTURES LAB since February 2018. Alao co-founded Kapitly, where the role of Product Lead was held from January 2020 to December 2022. Previous consultancy roles include positions at the International Energy Agency (IEA), International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Erova Energy, The African Climate Foundation, responsAbility Investments AG, Inspired Evolution Investment Management (Pty) Ltd, and the African Development Bank Group. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering from University College Dublin and multiple executive education credentials from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town.
