Janne Kurjenniemi has a diverse work experience starting from their professional hockey career as a player for Jyp HT from 1994 to 1998. Janne then worked as a software developer at FennoScan Systems Oy and Albicantes Ltd. from 1996 to 1998. After that, they worked at PLR Consultants Ltd. as an IT/Network Engineer and a Software Developer in 1998 and 1999. In 2000, they joined the University of Jyväskylä as a Researcher and later became a Project Manager from 2003 to 2005. In 2006, they co-founded Magister Solutions Ltd. and held various roles including Principal Scientist, CEO, and Research Director until 2021. During this time, they also served as a Research Director & co-founder at Ekahau since early 2019. Additionally, they worked as a CTO at Aito Technologies from 2007 to 2008 and served on the Board of Directors at Secapp - Critical Communications from 2011 to 2019. Janne Kurjenniemi completed their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Telecommunications at the University of Jyväskylä from 1994 to 2001. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Telecommunications at the same university from 2001 to 2005.
